THE ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY BLÖCHLINGER RECYCLING BRINGS CONSTRUCTION WASTE BACK INTO THE CIRCUIT AND THUS REDUCES LANDFILLS.
As a recycling company, the 100-year-old Blöchlinger AG takes responsibility for the environment and the population and is the only building material company in the region to recycle 80% of the accepted building waste into building materials such as NeoCret®, the ecological concrete. Only 20% of unusable construction waste has to be deposited. Too much construction waste goes straight to landfill in the canton of St. Gallen.
Waste from the construction industry is by far the largest amount of waste and accounts for around 65 million tons / year in Switzerland. With so much mass, it is essential to recycle the construction waste. For 36 years, Blöchlinger Recycling has been bringing waste from the construction industry back into the production cycle, from which new building materials are created.
The innovative building materials company in Neuhaus-Eschenbach closes the building material cycle with the BLÖCHKIK (Blöchlinger Kies Im Kreis) floor washing system, which is unique in Switzerland. Blöchlinger AG can completely process polluted and contaminated soils as well as sludge up to pollution E-material (reactor materials), hazardous waste and mixed demolition. Complex processes are used to extract aggregates from the soil and demolition materials for the production of NeoCret®, the ecological concrete for building construction and civil engineering. The fine fraction with a diameter of <0.063 mm, which is undesirable in the aggregate, becomes a valuable substitute for raw materials from which cement is produced. This achieves a recovery rate of up to 100% for the polluted and contaminated soils and the mixed demolition.
In order for the building material cycle to be operated by Blöchlinger AG in a technically and economically viable manner, Blöchlinger AG is required to be able to deposit the small proportion of 20% unusable building waste itself. However, so that landfills in the canton of St. Gallen are also operated sustainably, environmentally friendly and always in connection with a circular economy, Blöchlinger AG would like the canton to make a compulsory recycling obligation of 70%, i.e. a 70% recycling of construction waste. The canton of Zurich, for example, has an obligation to recycle construction waste. This would lead the building materials industry in the canton of St. Gallen into a sustainable future.
