Since 1983, we have been serving the residents and businesses of Platte and Clay Counties, as well as the Kansas City metropolitan area with quality batteries at wholesale prices. Whether you need a new battery for your boat or one for your alarm system, we can save you money with our discounted pricing.
History
Randy Best, and his father started this business in the basement of their home off of Hwy 9, back in 1983, reconditioning batteries to sell to car dealers in the Kansas City area. They also sold these batteries to the public for $14.95. In August of 1993, after the flood Best Batteries moved to Riverside, just across from the historic Red X. In 2006, Best Batteries moved to North Kansas City, and our growth has been amazing, however, prices have remained location pined affordable.
Battery Recycling
Recycling has been providing recycling for those of you who are not sure what to do with your spent batteries. Best Batteries is dedicated to the protection of the environment and we urge you to recycle your old batteries on every occasion. The recycling of lead-acid batteries is a success story. More than 97% of all battery lead is recycled. This is a much higher rate than aluminum cans, newspapers, and glass bottles. The lead-acid battery gains its environmental edge from its closed loop cycle. The typical new lead-acid battery contains 60 to 80% recycled lead and plastic. When a spent battery is collected, it is sent to a permitted recycling smelter, where under strict environmental regulations; the lead and plastic are reclaimed and sent to a new battery manufacturer. The recycling cycle goes on indefinitely. That means the lead and plastic in the lead-acid batteries that you use have been – and will continue to be – recycled many, many times
