Peter Lorris

As the son of a renowned Massachusetts Institute of Technology metallurgical professor, Peter Lorris was introduced to the wonders of metallurgy at a young age. He went on to develop that interest, earning a Bachelor of Science in geology from the University of South Carolina.
Following graduation, he established Lorris Environmental, a South Carolina-based consulting firm specializing in geology, hydrogeology, environmental demolition & remediation, recycling, regulatory compliance, asbestos and lead based-paint abatement. In 2012, Lorris recognized the need for an alternative to landfills and incinerated waste, and the idea for Meridian Metals Management was born. Since then, the company has grown to serve aerospace and technology customers throughout the U.S. and worldwide.
Throughout his career, Peter has had a passion for protecting the environment and conducting business with integrity. In addition to being a registered geologist, he is also former president of the South Carolina Association of Environmental Professionals, a member of the Recycled Materials Association (ReMA), and an EPA-certified environmental contractor, as well as OSHA-trained in hazardous waste.
