Berguedà Containers S L we have been dedicated since 1987 to the collection and recycling both at an industrial level and construction debris, as well as at an urban level (selective collection of solid urban waste and recycling). Waste manager number: E-753.01 and E-926.06 / Waste carrier number: T-429.

Collecting the knowledge obtained over so many years in the sector, surrounding ourselves with qualified and experienced personnel, we have been growing over the years and expanding our services and facilities. We have two recycling plants, the 17000 m2 Valldan Industrial Park in Berga, and the Sallent Waste Recovery Plant. The work team is currently made up of 150 people, from different areas, administrative, workers, etc.

We work to improve our environment, collecting and recycling materials, for later use as raw material, both at an industrial and domestic level.

STORY

Berguedà Containers S L was established in 1987 by Mr. Ramon Freixa Casadesús and his family, as a continuation of a 40-year career dedicated to the waste recovery sector, and with the aim of giving legal form with the incorporation of the children to the family business, and create the necessary structure to face the new demands that the recovery of waste and the need to preserve the natural environment and the environment in general entail.

Berguedà Containers S L, had two facilities dedicated to the selection, recovery and recovery of industrial and urban waste located in the municipality of Avià, one in the Paraje Piqué and the other in the Paraje de la Rovira, both with the corresponding municipal license, and adapted in accordance with the instructions received from the Waste Agency of the Department of the Environment of the Generalitat of Catalonia, to adapt and legalize them as authorized plants, with a municipal license and obtaining the registration number as authorized waste managers.

The company, to continue in the line of expansion and take advantage of the possibilities that currently arise in the environmental sector, saw the need to move its activity center to the Polígono Industrial de la Valldan in Berga where it is developed in better conditions the activity, since it has 9000 m2. At the end of 2002, it acquired a new plot next to it, of 8000 m2 to be able to expand the activity, so with the set of many efforts, human, material and capital, at the beginning of 2004 a new phase of progress in the world of recycling begins. and the environment, which is undergoing new changes and improvements. As for measures of the facilities after expanding, we obtain 17000 m2 facilities.

Currently, large quantities of different types of waste enter the plant, such as paper, glass, cardboard, textiles, iron, construction debris, etc ... the material is selected for later use as raw material.

The sector to which Containers del Berguedà belongs, there is the fact that there is an increasing tendency to recover the different types of materials, therefore it is assumed that each time there will be a broader and more varied management of products that will need an adequate selection to be used, thus preventing them from being dumped in controlled waste deposits. All this linked to an awareness in the mentality of improvement for the environment.
