He received some of his formal training at Farleigh Dickson University in New Jersey. He was a member of the US Navy, which brought him to California, from from 1964 through 1968. He started his professional career in the Jewelry business in 1968. His association with Bob and Lisa Skubis started in 1989 at Belgian Diamonds where he is the jewelry designer.   Tom specializes in work using platinum and 18k gold and other jewelry metals and stones. The range of his design work covers styles from the delicate Edwardian era to the most modern contemporary designs. While making his designs unique, he strives to make every piece he creates practical and comfortable to wear.   An unusual feature of his working method is that he uses computer created graphics to aid in working with his clients.
