Baxter Moerman Jewelry is the working collaboration of two designer goldsmiths, Matthew Moerman and Matthew Baxter. Having worked side by side for over a decade, they have a special understanding of each other’s skills and design aesthetic. Baxter and Moerman work out of their small studio in downtown San Luis Obispo, nestled on the beautiful Central Coast of California. Whether they are painstakingly setting gemstones or hand engraving graceful scrolls in precious metals, they always strive for the finest quality possible.

Enjoyment of the outdoors and the natural structures found there heavily inspire their designs. Unique surface textures drawn from organic materials are often an identifying characteristic of a piece of jewelry. From the arrangement of seeds in a tiny pod to the meandering lines of an eroded hillside, inspiration is sparked and the jewelry begins to take form. Baxter and Moerman patiently coax out the best forms from each concept, incorporating their signature finishes to each. The resulting pieces of inspired jewelry are testament to the unique partnership between this design team.
