The machine was built in a 6,000 square-foot converted repair shop, with the support of just six employees. Upon its completion, Mike embarked on a 15,000-mile tour to market his creation. He received his first order for five chippers in December of 1983. Mike, along with his wife and co-owner, Dianne Morey(left) launched the company in what seemed like a blink of an eye. The company grew rapidly. The Bandit Campus -- The first stand-alone building, on what was to be know as the Bandit campus, was soon eclipsed. Every two years after, a new facility or building expansion was conducted to accommodate and facilitate growth. Present manufacturing facilities exceed 270,000 square feet at two locations, Millbrook Road in Remus and North Winn. In the summer of 2013 and spring of 2015, Bandit's world-wide headquarters located between Remus and Mt. Pleasant, Michigan were expanded. Raccoon Mascot -- The cuddly raccoon known as 'Bandit' has enhanced the image of then, Foremost Fabrication's and its nick name. Throughout the Bandit campus you can see images of 'Bandit' in photographs, paintings, pictures and wood carvings -- many of which are gifts from dealers and customers.Made in Mid-Michigan, Used World-Wide -- Bandit Industries, Inc. is a full-line manufacturer of unique hand-fed and whole tree chippers, stump grinders, waste reduction Beast recycler units, high-powered forestry mowers and specialty equipment like the Arbor VAC® yard vacuum. Bandit's strength lies heavily in the quality and commitment of the employees. Many employees have been with the company for 15-20 years, and have be promoted to management positions.Talent -- With each expansion, Bandit sought out and hired hard-working, local talent to keep growing in the right direction. Jerry Morey and Dennis Tracy joined the Bandit team in 1987, becoming part-owners with Mike and Dianne. With Dianne Morey serving as Bandit's human resource director, the company quickly grew. Growing the "original six" to over 200 employees in the late 90's. That growth reached new heights in 2010, with the company's global workforce nearly doubling in the three years that followed. With Rosie Ebbinghaus serving as HR director, Bandit employs nearly 500 people. Mike Morey Sr., Dianne (Di) Morey and Jerry Morey are co-owners, with Jerry Morey serving as the president of the company.
