About Company

Australian Diversified Engineering Pty Ltd (ADE) is an Australian owned business which has been operating in Brisbane, Queensland since 1989.Founded in Brisbane 21 years ago, Australian Diversified Engineering (ADE) was the creation of Andy Igo, a mechanical engineer by trade. Fast forward to 2010 and ADE, now managed by Clive Gray and Danny Irvine, continues to live up to its name. Originally established as a provider of trade engineering services to the greater Brisbane region, in the early 1990's ADE diversified into the design, manufacture and installation of hydraulic services for mobile mining equipment (belly dump coal haulers). By the mid 1990's, this capacity had expanded to include the hydraulic services for belly dump bauxite haulers and water tankers (for both rigid truck and tractor arrangements). At the turn of the century, ADE commenced its machine assembly division with the contract to assemble Euclid Off-Highway Rear Dump Trucks for Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia (HCMA). Some 10 years later, ADE continues to support HCMA in this capacity. In 2004 Clive Gray joined ADE to fill the position of General Manager with a goal to rationalise the rapidly expanding machine assembly and fabrication divisions. This acquisition was followed soon after in 2005 by the addition of Danny Irvine, who assumed the newly created role of Engineering Manager, and was presented with a scope to build a team of professional engineers and mechanical draftspersons. With a combined experience in excess of 30 years in the mining and earthmoving industries, and supported by resumes heavily endowed with skills in contracts management, machine assembly, machine design, and machine modification, ADE was certainly about to open a new and exciting chapter in its already successful history. In 2007 ADE was contracted by Rio Tinto Weipa to design and manufacture a comprehensive access system arrangement for a Grove GMK-5220 All-Terrain Crane to manage operational and maintenance "working at heights" issues. The design methodologies & concepts (cultivated in accordance with the applicable standards and codes of practice), and manufacturing techniques developed during that project have since spawned an impressive range of access solutions for a variety of mobile equipment and workshop maintenance tasks. Engineering design tools such as 3-Dimensional Computer-Aided-Design (3D CAD) software and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) has further enhanced their team of highly qualified and experienced engineers and draftspersons. In only three years since the Grove GMK-5220 access system, ADE has built a remarkable catalogue of mobile equipment access solutions. There are products for off-highway trucks and tractors (Caterpillar, Hitachi & Komatsu), bulldozers/track type tractors (Caterpillar & Komatsu), motor graders (Caterpillar), wheel loaders/dozers (Caterpillar, Komatsu & Le Tourneau), mobile cranes (Grove & Terex), as well as specialised equipment such as low loaders. This diverse range of access products for mobile equipment has required ADE to undertake a large amount of research and development activity, ensuring that they maintained a high level of creativity and innovation, which in turn has become their trademark. Great pride is taken by ADE in providing the best product documentation and product support to the market. To make sure that their customers have easy access to the "latest and greatest" product documentation, such as Operation and Maintenance Manuals and Parts Books, the information is readily available for viewing and download (pdf format) from their website. The daily running of the business by the directors allows their clients direct contact to them, giving them surety of ADE's support and commitment. Over the past two decades ADE has developed relationships with many of Australia's leading miners (including Anglo Coal, BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto & Xstrata) and contractors (including EDI Downer, Emeco, & Leighton ), as well as mining equipment manufacturers and their dealers (including Caterpillar - Hastings Deering (Aust) & Westrac (NSW, WA & China), Hitachi (HCMA), Komatsu and Le Tourneau) operating both within Australia and overseas. As ADE's business profile increased, so did demand for the company's products and services, and by January 2010 their workforce had grown to over 50 people. With ADE having now achieved a strong market presence in Australia's mining sector as a supplier of solutions for "working at height" issues on mobile equipment, they are looking to the future to not only strengthen their position, but to expand further into the overseas markets. Their goal is simple; to be the best in the business.
