Our Story

We began as underdogs in 1971. Ray’s son, Jim, became his right hand man helping build and operate the family business at age 17. They faced tough competition from big industry names, but Ray was never one to back down from a challenge. Instead, he focused on the basics: dealing with customers honestly and providing quality, reliable service. As his reputation grew, so did the business – steadily and surely. Today, Aurora Tallow proudly celebrates 50 years of service.

In 1984, Jim and Ray opened a local oil recycling plant, ensuring all waste oil is sustainably recycled and responsibly upcycled. 

We’ve since grown to become a well-established industry leader. But we’ve never lost sight of what really counts: hard work and outstanding customer service. Furthermore, all our work is done on American soil – nothing gets shipped overseas.
