The year was 1991. The cool kids were playing with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, watching Full House, and listening to Nirvana. Meanwhile, Mark Moeller would have happily spent his days scouring flea markets and estate sales for the treasures of yesteryear, and his evenings exploring this newfangled invention called "the Internet." Those hobbies took a backseat to his day job: Mark had recently inherited a jewelry store from his late father, R.F. Moeller. He still managed to find time to combine his passions for antiques and the Internet, and scooped up AntiqueJewelry.com. Talk about vision. Like many URLs at the time, AntiqueJewelry.com was available and didn’t cost a dime. He set the URL aside for a rainy day.

That rainy day came in 2002—almost. AntiqueJewelry.com was to be an online store for replica antique jewelry. Inches away from the launch, Mark and his team called it off. The local business began experiencing growing pains, and the timing wasn’t right.

Fast forward to 2015. There was a feeling of now or never. It was time to do something with ‪AntiqueJewelry.com, and so the team at R.F. Moeller Jeweler helped to fund a new business. That business is Atique. We were born with a mission: to bring you an unparalleled collection of curated, authentic and unique antique and vintage jewelry. And we’re doing it in a totally new way.
