A History of Expertise

Associated Tube began manufacturing in Canada in 1955, building a strong reputation for quality products.

Over the years, production capabilities and technical expertise continued to increase. Associated Tube joined the Samuel Group of Companies in 1975. The partnership increased ATG's profile with customers and suppliers, by leveraging its buying power with Samuel, Son & Co., Limited purchasing.

In 2006, ATG expanded into Mexico with a greenfield operation Tubos Samuel de Mexico (TSM.) The expansion combined ATG's quality and reliability with accessibility to growing automotive and developing markets in Mexico. Today TSM ships to destinations throughout the Americas and also internationally.

In the early 1990’s ATC developed product specifically for use in stainless steel automotive fuel lines, and rapidly established a reputation as the leading manufacturer for fuel line tube the North American market. This was the beginning of ATG’s dedicated growth manufacturing stainless steel tube for critical use automotive applications.

The flagship location in Canada continues to serve as the Group's Centre of Technological Excellence, including an on-site metallurgical laboratory providing a wide range of testing to ensure the highest levels of product integrity, failure analysis to assist customers in their product development, and to support our extensive product development program. ATG's New Product Development Team partners with customers to deliver innovative solutions and dedicated customer engineering support, as well as a quick turn-around for prototypes.

In 2014, to leverage the capabilities of two Samuel divisions specializing in tubular components, the formation of the "Samuel Tubular Group" was announced. This combination of product offerings provides an additional value-added proposition to customers: ATG has its expertise in stainless steel / high-nickel alloy tube and Tubular Products Company (TPC) has an expansive ability in carbon tube.
