About Company

Aruba Petroleum, Inc. is an independent crude oil and natural gas exploration and production company headquartered in Plano, Texas. Aruba has been in operation for over 25 years and has been involved with unconventional production and horizontal drilling since 2001. We place a heavy emphasis on safe, efficient drilling practices and a commitment to the community and environment. Our primary focus is on unconventional reservoirs, such as shale plays, which serve to provide long-term production stability and growth. As an independent corporation, we have the flexibility of a smaller company and the stability of a larger corporation. Aruba's workplace is high-paced, energetic and organic while retaining the structure and framework needed to succeed.

In the early 1990’s, the North Texas plains began rumbling with a revolution in oil and gas production. Drilling technologies and techniques, in particular horizontal drilling, changed the entire industry. Now vast new reservoirs can be tapped by horizontal drilling and produce far more oil, natural gas and gas liquids than anyone dreamed possible.

That’s where Aruba comes in. Right at ground zero of the revolution. We mastered these drilling techniques. Today, with hundreds of wells under our belt, very few do it as well.

SMACK DAB IN THE BARNETT SHALE.

We were among the first to master new technical production methods. Here, in a cluster of 18 counties stretching north, south and west of Dallas-Fort Worth, lies the shale play so rich, we expect it to continue producing for many years to come.

Today, Aruba is ranked the fifth largest operator in Wise County out of 117 companies – trailing only four multi-billion dollar companies. In Parker County, Aruba ranks number seven – behind six multi-billion dollar companies. Among independents, Aruba stands tall.

Aruba is distinctive among independent oil and gas producers. Four critical differences set us apart, improving our margins and enabling us to perform at a high level over the long haul.

EXPERIENCE Aruba has been in operation for over 25 years and has been involved with production from unconventional sources, and horizontal drilling since 2001, much longer than most production companies.

EXPERTISE Very few production companies are as dedicated to horizontal drilling as we are. Aruba has the experience and knowledge many companies seek.

COMMITMENT TO THE FIELDUnlike many producers, our field operations are a core component of our company. We hire the best people to manage our wells on site full-time.

COST CONTAINMENT We have established a model of business with built-in processes and steps to keep costs down and maximize profits without sacrificing quality or safety. Successful production is one part of the revenue stream; cutting costs is the other. We excel at both without cutting corners.

Our record for performance speaks for itself. Aruba has drilled hundreds of horizontal wells without a dry hole. Results like that do not happen by accident. It reflects the professionalism and quality of our people at every level.

OPERATIONS

Producing optimism direct from the field.

A COMPREHENSIVE PRESENCE.

We have geologists, land specialists and drill site supervisors all on staff. Their roles are too important to be outsourced or contracted out. Not every oil and gas company can say that.

Our operations model calls for best practices and constant monitoring to keep costs in check. In fact, we only drill where we know we can keep our costs satisfactory.

A DISCIPLINED EXPANSION.

Aruba will drill many new wells in the Barnett Shale, confident this play will be a big producer for many years to come. We are moving next into the Mississippi Lime play in Oklahoma and Kansas. Though not a shale play, it is ideal for horizontal drilling.

Looking ahead, we expect to enter other US unconventional plays. Other possibilities include unconventional plays in Canada, Europe and South America.

Positive steps for a strong outcome.

Aruba was an early adopter of the various new techniques required for successful horizontal drilling. We regularly employ the processes and techniques chosen to increase efficiency and minimize our impact on the environment.

A SITE TO BEHOLD

We know that each property is different. We aim to reduce the number and size of our drill sites as much as possible in order to minimize our impact on our landowners. We try to perform a simo-frac (where we run two sets of fracking equipment simultaneously) when we can so that we're in and out, finished in record time. However, sometimes our sites are just too small and we prefer to use a zipper frac (where we use one set of equipment between two wells). We always look for ways to stay efficient without sacrificing quality.

DIFFERENT FRACS FOR DIFFERENT WELLS

We know that every well is different and that every environment offers its own unique makeup and unique challenges. We aim to tailor each of our frac jobs to best suit our target formation in order to cut down on waste and to conserve water. By changing the amounts and types of frac sands we can minimize water usage and maximize well output.

GOOD SENSE OF DIRECTION

The key to a successful horizontal well is knowing where you are, where you're going and how far you've gone at all times. Good directional people and good mud loggers help us track where we are so that when we drill, we drill right. By knowing where we are and how our drilling is going, we know we'll always be on target. This also allows us to cut down on wasted time and effort.
