Apyron Technologies develops and commercializes high-performance, specialty materials needed to tackle global issues faced in a wide range of industries including the environmental, energy, transportation, food and beverage, medical and pharmaceutical sectors. We have developed and patented a revolutionary Advanced Material Synthesis Technology (AMST) that enables the conversion of commodity chemicals, such as alumina and other metal oxides, into advanced specialty materials.
Our clients use this proprietary technology platform to develop new products and optimize the productivity and the efficiency of their existing products. The strength and breadth of our technology platform allows us to develop strategic relationships with industry leaders - including those with well-known consumer brands - in various markets. Our technology platform extends throughout the entire research, development and commercialization process.
Based on our research and knowledge of potential markets, we believe this technology platform is applicable to at least 15 market sectors, totaling over $50 billion of annual expenditures in the United States. These include several significant emerging areas such as fuel cell technologies, destruction of airborne bacteria and viruses, destruction of sexually transmitted viruses, numerous pharmaceutical processes and even medical applications such as blood purification.
Apyron has decided to initially focus on three large market applications where the need for new technology is paramount to our global welfare. Aqua-Bind®, our line of chemical adsorbents, are custom designed to selectively remove up to 99% of heavy metal contaminants, such as arsenic and lead from drinking water. We have also applied our technology platform to develop advanced, cost-effective antimicrobial media like our MB2000 product line, and are currently designing catalysts for removing pollutants caused by automobiles and coal-fired utility plants. Together, these three market application areas represent an annual worldwide market of $28 billion.
These commercial developments have lead to many of our clients being well-known industry leaders, ranging from a major international beverage and bottling company to the government of India. In the future, we envision our customer base ranging from individual families to industrial process companies, power utilities and hospitals. We are now laying the foundation needed to continue growth in our current sectors as well as exploring future capabilities.
Apyron has devoted several years to demonstrating and developing an antimicrobial technology to defend against both disease causing and nuisance microorganisms. Apyron's MB2000 technology allows the synthesis of known antimicrobial agents such as Copper, Silver, Manganese, and Zinc with various support materials to create an innovative line of chemical media than can be used to purify water in large centralized treatment facilities, point-of-use (POU) devices, point-of-entry (POE) applications, and industrial process waters. Our microbial inhibitors are an ideal pretreatment to activated carbon filtration, membrane and ion exchange processes to prevent fouling and extend process life. They can be employed in a variety of fixed bed or filtration devices for aqueous and air applications.
The MB2000 product line is designed to kill and control microorganisms from a host of aqueous solutions:
