Andrew Grant Diamond Center opened for business January 15, 1960. Prior to opening his own store, Andrew Grant was a watch maker for M.J. Kittredge Jewelers in Westfield from 1947 through 1959. The site where Andrew Grant opened his store, 144 Elm Street, was the former site of Sherman Jewelers.
The store was started with a modest budget and a lot of ambition. At that time, jewelry boxes, cuckoo clocks, sterling on crystal, and flatware were all staple items along with the jewelry. Backed by watch repair, ethics, and ambition, the business steadily grew and expanded. Audrey Grant, Andrew's wife, started working in the store shortly after opening and helped to continue to grow the business.
Andrew Grant Diamond Center is a second generation retail jewelry store. Founded in 1960, we have always believed that 'quality' should be at the forefront in all that we do - hence our tag line, or motto, of "One store specializing in one thing...Quality".
With this belief in mind, our inventory is tailored to fit that motto, not the other way around. All of our gold jewelry is 14 karat or better; all of our platinum jewelry is 90% pure, or better; all of the colored stones we carry are genuine, and any treatments done are fully disclosed; and all of the diamonds we carry, regardless of size or importance in a piece of jewelry, are of a good, or better, quality.
Our service and repair options follow the same guidelines with: lifetime replacement on almost all the chains and bracelets we sell; a lifetime guarantee option for battery replacement; a laser welder to ensure precision repair work; and the offer of a cad-cam service for special orders.
We are members of the American Gem Society, have the equipment and expertise to be an Accredited Gem Lab, and Robert Grant holds their highest degree of Certified Gemologist Appraiser. We are Master Jewelers with the Independent Jewelers Organization, and members of the Jewelers of America.
Andrew Grant Diamond Center continues to offer full service to its customers. Inventory consists of fine quality jewelry - period. You won't find any 10 karat gold, cubic zirconia, or imitation gemstones. The store does have a growing selection of sterling jewelry; mostly designer types of pieces. If you see a colorless stone - it's diamond. If you see a colored stone - it's genuine. All the pearls are either cultured or natural - no faux pearls. Most all the jewelry is either in 14 or 18 karat gold or in platinum.
Our buying is done with direct manufacturers and importers, not through middlemen or wholesale distributors. This allows us to keep quality at the level we insist upon, and the values among the best available in the industry.
One store specializing in one thing...Quality. It is who we are.
