Company history

In 1977 Catherine and Hans Amsler-Waeckerling rented a barn in Zurich Seebach in order to start trading scrap metal on their own two feet. They recognized early on that flexibility and service are very important to customers. In the course of time, Hans Amsler Waeckerling faced more and more requests to dismantle heating boilers. In addition to the scrap metal trade, the business field of steel demolition, dismantling and clearing of all kinds began. In 1986 they found 2,500 square meters of land on the gas works area, on which the company building as well as the warehouse and the warehouse are located to this day. In the coming years the demolition of heating and plumbing as well as steel demolition increased more and more. New employees were hired and the vehicle fleet expanded.

In 2000 her firstborn son got into the business after completing his basic training. In 2002 he was followed by his younger brother Thomas. Amsler Waeckerling GmbH is growing steadily and trains apprentices.

Andreas Amsler - managing director and owner

Born on July 1, 1979, he got insights into the life of a scrap dealer from an early age. Even as a child he was curious and wanted to know why and why his dad is so strong. He was allowed to go to work with his father early on, even if it was just for the "nasty" thing in the van. Andreas started cutting various metals in the warehouse and always looked over his father's shoulder while doing his craft. Much of what he learned at a young age helps him all the more with decisions and actions today.

After graduating from school, Andreas attended business school followed by an internship in a management consultancy and job agency in order to gain initial experience in administration. However, he quickly realized that he wanted to join the family business. In 2000 he then joined his parents' company completely. It quickly became clear that he wanted to complete the new apprenticeship as a recyclist. He then completed this with flying colors. After completing his second training, he wanted to take the opportunity to train more young people in this field. In the course of time he successfully completed his training to become a federal. dipl. technical Merchant. In order to do justice to his task, Andreas Amsler graduated with a federal diploma. dipl. Visited the managing director and successfully passed it in July 2017. Andreas Amsler has accepted a new challenge and is taking up a private training course as a children's football coach this autumn. The new task gives him a welcome balance to his daily business.

With new and innovative ideas as well as a lot of work and sweat, Andreas Amsler sets a lot in motion and always thinks about the environment and the future of his family and his employees.

The scrap and metal trade is our second strong mainstay. It was created through years of collaboration and a personal relationship between the founders Hans and Catherine Amsler and their respective customers.

The lean organization allows a high degree of flexibility as well as individual customer care and so appropriate containers can be made available for collection for any scrap materials. The containers are exchanged regularly and the materials are remunerated at current prices.

Dispose of and recycle metal shavings

The metal chips are collected in special emulsion-tight boxes (for a clean solution in your workshop) and transported to our warehouse. There they are neatly separated from the drilling emulsion using a special process so that they can be recycled in an environmentally friendly manner
