We are located in Easton, MD. We are the ONLY locally owned and operated company providing single-stream recycling and weekly garbage service in most areas of Queen Anne's & Talbot Counties.

About Single-Stream Recycling

What is “Single-Stream Recycling”

NO SORTING REQUIRED! Single-Stream allows all recyclables to be collected in the same container, making recycling convenient and easy for customers and collection.

Where do recyclables go

Recyclables are collected and brought to a recycling facility where they are sorted by material type and other qualities. The sorted materials are compressed into large rectangular bales and shipped to processing plants to be made into new products.

What preparation is involved?

Please rinse items to remove food debris. No need to remove labels. Lids can remain on containers.

What are acceptable recycling items

Mixed paper & cardboard

Clear & colored glass containers

Aluminum: containers, foil, pie pans

Steel & bi-metal containers

Plastic containers marked #1 thru #7

Rigid plastic items

 

What are unacceptable recycling items

Wax-coated paper or cardboard , Plastic bags or films, Any material with heavy food debris , Batteries, light bulbs, yard waste , Hazardous/toxic substances , Styrofoam of any kind,Paint cans w/ wet or dry paint

DETAILED LIST OF ACCEPTABLE AND UNACCEPTABLE ITEMS FOR SINGLE STREAM RECYCLING

(Questionable items not found on either list: Please call and ask or place in trash container)

Detailed List of ACCEPTABLE Recycling Items:

Newspapers (including all inserts), Magazines and catalogs and Junk mail.

Cardboard and paperboard boxes (including cereal boxes without liners).

Computer printouts, office paper (including typing, fax, copy, letterhead, NCR) and envelopes.

Books (including paperbacks, textbooks, hardbacks and telephone books)

Brown paper bags

Glass food & beverage containers such as jars and bottles (lids and caps do not need to be removed).

Ferrous and bimetal food and beverage containers (lids and caps do not need to be removed).

Non-metallic wrapping paper Aluminum food and beverage containers, aluminum foil and aluminum pie pans.

Narrow-neck plastic containers (other than for motor oil) carry plastic resin identification code 1 through 7 (lids and caps do not need to be removed).

Wide-mouth containers such as peanut butter, margarine/butter tubs, yogurt, cottage cheese, yogurt, sour cream, mayonnaise, whipped topping, peanut butter, and prescription bottles (lids and caps do not need to be removed).

Rigid plastics which include plastic milk/soda crates, plastic buckets with metal handles, plastic laundry baskets, plastic lawn furniture, plastic totes, plastic drums, plastic coolers, plastic flower pots, plastic drinking cups/glasses, plastic 5-gallon water bottles, plastic pallets, and empty plastic garbage/recycling bins.

Aseptic/gable-top milk and juice cartons (lids and caps do not need to be removed). Aerosol Cans.

Detailed List of UNACCEPTABLE Recycling Items:


Wax coated paper or cardboard.

Mixed metal and paper (like stapled paper – just remove the staples)

Any material with substantial food debris (small trace amounts of food residue is ok).

Automotive parts

Plumbing parts

Paint cans with wet or dried-on paint

Electronics Batteries of any kind.

Plastic bags or films of any kind.

Styrofoam of any kind.

Light bulbs of any kind.

Mirrors, window or auto glass, porcelain, ceramics, glass cookware/bake ware, microwave oven trays, drinking glasses, perfume/cologne bottles.

Wood or Yard Waste.

Coat hangers, Wire.

Household items such as toasters, cookware, bake ware, electronics, appliances, etc.

Hazardous or toxic substances.

Items containing or having debris and residue containing hazardous or toxic substances such as paint cans with wet paint, motor oil containers, gasoline cans, glue, petroleum products, etc.
