American Sheet Metal & Glazing has been family owned and operated for more than 40 years. We operate under California state license number 680575 with classifications C43 Sheet Metal and C-17 Glass and Glazing. We provide services for the Private, Federal, Commercial, Retail and Public Sectors
A highly skilled staff and competitive pricing are two of the company’s foundations. But a major factor in the company’s success is Founder & President Robert Burner’s vision, which calls for a focus on customer service in addition to quality and price. This is what has allowed American Sheet Metal + Glazing to really stand out among the competition.
The company’s strengths are evident from the beginning of every project. We meet in the design phase and assist the client with ideas and concepts and value engineer the best product for the best price. We create different designs and specifications for what the client needs to incorporate the aesthetic look they want. The object is to keep within budget, and sometimes cost and design don’t go together. Then our job is to get the project within the client’s budget while keeping the overall design and plan true to the desired finish product.
Because budgets and designs coincide so infrequently, American Sheet Metal + Glazing have had a lot of experience in reducing costs while maintaining the design’s integrity of the project. It’s during these times that the staff’s ability and customer service play a huge role. We recently completed the $ 150 Million Dollar SDSU South Campus which was a “Design Assist” project for ASM. We worked with the project architect and the general contractor to design a project that would be within budget and one that would meet the owners design expectations. Despite the difficulty of the project and the tight schedule requirements, our years of experience in handling projects such as this, made it that much easier for us to successfully complete the project on time and within budget.
American Sheet Metal + Glazing’s abilities extend across a number of facility types. Private and public schools, office buildings, hotels, libraries – anything in the commercial, industrial or institutional sectors – are projects that American Sheet Metal + Glazing can handle. This versatility can be seen through its work on the Grossmont Hospital as well as the Otay Mesa Detention Facility.
The Grossmont Hospital project required working around the existing hospital operations, while the Otay Mesa Detention Facility was impressive because of the sheer volume and size of the project. It involved installing more than 200,000 square feet of standing seam metal roofing and thousands of feet of gutter and sheet metal flashing.
One of the more challenging projects may be the 22 story Blue Sky apartment project in downtown San Diego. This involved the fabrication and installation of over 80,000 sq. feet of aluminum composite panels. The installation of the ACM panels was required to be installed utilizing multiple swing stage platforms for the project.
