HWR LLC, the parent company of American Flux & Metal, is owned and operated by the children and grandchildren if its founder Hirsch Wolf Rudoler (whose initials were “HWR”). Hirsch Rudoler, a German-Jewish immigrant, came to the United States with his wife and seven children in 1938. HWR, founded in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1948, was originally in the business of reprocessing scrap fabrics from garment and carpet manufacturers into new yarns used in carpets and outerwear.
For over 50 years the Company was operated by Hirsch’s children, Joachim Rudoler, Max Rudoler and Lola Chandler. During the 1970’s, the company transitioned into the public warehousing business, eventually owning/operating a half-million square feet of warehouse space at four locations in and near the Port of Camden, NJ (across the Delaware River from Philadelphia).
In 1994, HWR purchased the manufacturing facility that became AF&M from Climax Molybdenum (today, a division of Freeport-McMoRan). The facility first began producing molybdenum products in the 1960s and added ESR flux to its product line during the 1980s.
Today, AF&M is led by Hirsch’s son and grandson, Joachim and Stuart Rudoler. We are proud to be a third generation family manufacturing business and look forward, with the support of our dedicated employees, to many more years of serving our customers.
