Milestones

• 1972: Larry Hooker, Sr. starts American Overhead Door in his mother's garage. He builds American on outstanding 24/7/365 service and his passion for getting the job done right the first time.
• 1996: The acquisition of Total Overhead Door broadens American's capabilities and customer base.
• 2001: The acquisition of Able Door strengthens American even further.
• 2002: American's legacy of quality service is assured for the future, as the company is acquired by Larry Hooker, Jr.
• 2006: The company’s name is changed to American Door and Dock to better represent our comprehensive range of commercial door & dock solutions.

Community

We're in business to help our customers succeed and grow. But we're also committed to the success, progress, health & safety, and culture of our community. We're active in our community through a productive partnership with Teen Reach Adventure Camp in Schaumburg, IL. Teen Reach provides abused, at-risk, and under-privileged children with a fun filled, life impacting camp experience to help them get their lives on track. We're proud to support this fine organization and its great work in the Chicagoland community.
