Amber Services provides a fully comprehensive Waste Management Service, including the collection, treatment, transfer and disposal with a heavy emphasis towards Waste Minimisation and Recycling The family run business brings all the waste it handles to its recycling facility, based in Ystrad Mynach, for sorting and segregation into various recycling streams.
Established in 1972 Amber Services prides itself on the ability to meet customer’s needs through price, availability and service. Whilst its primary business is that of dry waste management and disposal, it has always played an active role in recycling and the reduction of waste, being the first company to introduce bottle banks to South Wales.

Through the continued development of our recycling centre, we aim to access materials that, for various reasons, currently go straight to landfill, we believe that this development is one of the most positive steps we can take towards providing our customers with an environmentally friendly alternative to landfill-a true investment in our environmental future.

Amber Services Material Reclamation Facility and Transfer Station offers waste management services for Construction & Demolition, Industrial, Commercial, Trade and Household wastes including Hardcore, Soil, Wood, Metal, Glass, Paper, Cardboard and Plastic. The facility is currently achieving its target to recycle 85 per cent of all wastes collected on behalf of its customers.

The Materials Reclamation Facility gives our customers all the benefits of recycling without the need to segregate waste at source, A full and concise reporting package is available, both customer and site specific, for all waste streams and is recorded in weight and volume and percentages recycled.

These reports, if required, are issued on a monthly basis, and can be issued in PDF format or Excel format.  This system is offered in addition to the regulatory issuing of controlled waste transfer notes. Every movement of waste from site has individual waste transfer notes, allowing a full and comprehensive audit trail. These are issued on each movement of waste from site.  Copies are kept at out office in accordance with legislation. Annual waste transfer notes are also available where required.

Monthly management reports record the tonnage in each skip.  These figures are key performance indicators as to the amount and type of waste generated by site on a day-to-day basis.  The reports show the percentage recycled per skip, allowing on going management of each site’s waste output and are an effective management tool, allowing accurate analysis of waste management with a view to overall waste reduction.

Reports can also be issued on an overall basis and will show each movement of waste from site, container type and size, weight, nature of waste and percentage of recycling rate.  In addition to this, recycling certificates can also be issued.  

We see our methods of operation as pro active in the waste industry – our customers are not simply disposing of their waste, but actively contributing to the reduction of waste to landfill. Where most waste companies simply provide a waste disposal service straight to landfill or their customers have to separate at source, we extend our services to separating and sorting the waste in order to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill. 

Our aim is to continue with our ongoing reduction of waste to landfill. We are continually investigating and investing in various new methods of processing wastes to aid the recycling process. A variety of new waste segregation machinery is currently being tested to evaluate the benefits for our operations.

In addition to our comprehensive waste management services, which include Skips, Rollonoffs, Wheelie bins, Mobile compaction services, we now offer skip sack services and bagged waste collections, providing a solution for customers with small amounts of waste wishing to recycle.
