History

Established in Miami in 1963 by Peter Mosheim, Allied Metals began as a buyer of red metals servicing local accounts. Founded on principals of hard work, innovation, superior service and trust, the company grew quickly and soon branched out into international markets. In 1980 Peter was joined by his Paul who continues to lead the company today. More than half a century later we’ve evolved from those humble beginnings into state-of-the-art facilities and continue to develop our expansive global trading network without sacrificing any of the basic founding principles.

In 2012 PMR Inc, a fourth-generation recycler owned by the Schilberg family, acquired a majority stake in Allied Metals, creating one of the largest independent non-ferrous recycling companies in the United States. The combined resources, assets and industry knowledge from this dynamic pairing has further strengthened our position in the market.
