Allagash Waste Services
Allagash Waste Services was founded by Maine native Dan Emerson, a 3rd generation waste industry professional who’s been serving the industry in various leadership roles throughout New England for the past 30 years. Allagash was built on the fundamentals and foundation of Dan’s experience and the desire to build a Maine-Based Family Company that serves Our Communities and fosters doing business locally and cares about building a better Maine.
Dan’s family has been serving the people of Maine in the waste industry since the mid 1950’s. George & Pat Emerson, founded George Emerson & Son’s right here in Windham, Maine and was later joined by their sons, George Emerson Jr, Dan’s late father and Vern Emerson. Later on, in the 1980’s, the company was branded as Enviropac and continued the legacy of providing the highest level of service excellence, quality and safety. In 1996, George Emerson & Sons was sold, and Dan continued on in the waste industry in various leadership roles including his last role as Regional Vice President of Operations.
Dan is joined at Allagash Waste Services with his oldest son Alec Emerson in Operations, their youngest son, Andrew Emerson, and his spouse Leah Girouard, both in Account Management. Rusty Poland, a cousin of the family is the Maintenance Manager for Allagash Waste Services. The combined experience amongst the family is well over 50 years.
