The 3,456 ha Haultain Property is located in the prolific Abitibi Greenstone Belt of Canada. The Abitibi belt has produced over 170 million ounces of gold.The property contains a new gold discovery made by the optionor Transition Metals and local prospector Sherry Swain.The project hosts a zone of widespread alteration and gold mineralization associated with a suite of syenitic intrusions and structures similar to other significant gold deposits exploited elsewhere throughout the Abitibi Greenstone Belt.The 2011 exploration program led to the discovery of a number of zones of gold mineralization over a strike length of 1.5 km, with visible gold at surface. These zones were the focus of the recently completed drill program which successfully tested the shallow downward extension of surface mineralization exposed in trenching.Aldershot Resources is now planning a $400,000 trenching and drill program to test further high priority target areas as well as testing gold mineralization at further depths.As the full extent of this system, and its economic potential, have not fully been established, Aldershot management is excited at the prospect of discovering another multi million ounce gold deposit in the prolific Abitibi Greenstone Gold Belt of Canada.
