Ernest Hadley founded the business in 1933 delivering sand and gravel using a horse and cart; supplies were hand dug from land at Shinfield. Alan Hadley, Earnest’s nephew, took over the business in 1946 and in the spirit of recycling that has been the cornerstone of the business since, started to grow his fleet by buying ex military vehicles.

Established for over 60 years, Hadleys is the leading local skip hire and waste recycling business in the Reading and Newbury area.

The company is a fully licensed waste carrier and operates a state of the art recycling centre licensed and regulated by the Environment Agency.

We aim to maximise recycling rates and help contribute to the aim of reducing the amount of material sent to landfill.
