Agri-Therm Inc. is a Canadian company dedicated to developing portable and stationary equipment for the production of biooil and biochar from biomass, specifically agricultural residues and transition crops.
With our backgrounds in agriculture, engineering and fabrication, we analyzed various methods of dealing with agricultural products. Not being satisfied with what was currently available, we decided to create our own solution to satisfy the unique aspects of agricultural products.
In conjunction with the Western Fluidization Group, Faculty of Engineering, The University of Western Ontario, we designed and patented a unique fluid bed reactor. This allowed us to design and build a mobile pyrolysis plant that addresses the unique issues associated with agricultural products.
Agri-Therm is one of the technology transfer and commercialization activities undertaken by the research group known as the Institute for Chemicals and Fuels from Alternative Resources (ICFAR).
Agri-Therm is closely affiliated with the Institute for Chemicals and Fuels from Alternative Resources (ICFAR), a University of Western Ontario Engineering research facility where the patented MPS100 was developed. ICFAR is a world leader in developing process and technologies for producing chemicals and fuels from renewable and alternative resources. Please visit their webpage.
