About Company

ACRC has thousands of farmers and applicators nationwide that participate in our free recycling programs. The ACRC is fully funded by our member companies and affiliates that formulate, produce, package and distribute crop protection and other pesticide products.

ACRC Approved End-use Products

Currently, approximately 10,000,000 pounds of HDPE are collected annually by ACRC—that’s a lot of plastic. Where does it all go? Many useful products are made from collected high-density polyethylene HDPE. Of course, environmental and health safety is of utmost importance. The ACRC has developed stringent guidelines for handling recovered high-density polyethylene HDPE, from the moment when containers are rinsed right through the manufacturing process.

One of the objectives of the Ag Container Recycling Council is to continually evaluate methods of recycling (utilizing) pesticide container resins.  As studies are ongoing, these End Uses may be amended as changes are recommended by the ACRC Technical Committee and approved by the ACRC Executive Board.

The Containers will be utilized in such a way that any residues on or in the resin will have no real or perceived adverse affect on the environment or the user.

Recycling must be carried out using acceptable processes. Both processes and uses (End Use Products) will be subject to evaluation by the ACRC Technical Committee.  As of October 25, 2013, End Use Products deemed acceptable are:
  • Agriculture drain pipe
  • Highway sign posts
  • Highway and agricultural fence posts
  • Underground utility conduit
  • Wire and cable spool (reel) flanges
  • Agro chemical composite IBC platforms
  • Industrial pallets for ag chemical and seed packaging

All other products are deemed unacceptable at this time.

In addition, the manufacture of all End Use Products listed above is currently restricted to those facilities inspected and approved by the ACRC Technical Committee.
