The Glass ReFactory is part of Adams Brown Recycling and both are divisions of Adams Brown Counties Economic Opportunities, Inc., a community action agency that serves Adams and Brown Counties in southern Appalachian Ohio. Adams Brown Recycling (ABR) began as a summer youth program in 1979, and has grown to become one of the largest non-profit recycling centers in Ohio.
ABR provides a comprehensive, multi-material service of buying back recyclables from the public (aluminum cans, scrap aluminum, copper, brass, etc.). Money returned to area residents in 2011 through the purchase of their aluminum, copper and other recyclables = $1,426,151. Other services include: curbside recycling in Brown County, community drop-off boxes in 17 different villages and locations in 3 counties, and educational presentations and tours for schools, clubs and civic groups.
