Headquartered in Massachusetts, Acuity Power Group provides independent engineering services to assess project quality, identify and reduce project risk, shorten design and construction cycles, and provide higher levels of excellence in PV system safety and performance.
Services are provided for grid-connected and grid-parallel PV systems in commercial, institutional and utility-scale markets throughout the U.S.

PV QUALITY ASSURANCE SERVICES
Independent Engineering Services
As independent engineer, we provide PV quality assurance for project financiers and developers, and work to identify risk and assess and certify the quality of PV systems. We provide valuable insight on risk exposure, and will help identify ways to mitigate these risks. Independent services are available for both new projects and existing PV systems that may be under-performing, or transferring ownership.
Our comprehensive commissioning includes independent review of design plans for code and standards compliance, with recommendations for design modifications according to industry best practices. We provide procedural documentation from installation manuals, design guidelines and safety procedures. PV services include energy modeling, safety and workmanship inspections, string-level IV curve tracing, thermal imaging, insulation resistance testing, ground impedance verification, code compliance inspection, O&M plan review and system performance testing and analysis.
Owner’s Engineering Services
As owners’ engineer, we provide PV consulting services for project sponsors and others to help reduce construction and performance risk. Our experienced team provides services including but not limited to conceptual design, energy modeling, technical expertise for bid documents and review, O&M plan review, design review, commissioning services including functional and performance testing, as well as retro-commissioning services.
Continuous Commissioning
Acuity Power Group provides continuous commissioning services throughout a project’s useful life, including scheduled and unscheduled site inspections for safety, system diagnostics, troubleshooting, performance testing and verification.
COMMUNITY
Acuity Power Group values community service as core principle of our organization. Our employees donate their time and services to help advance our society as a whole, from free consultations and advice in sustainable energy to unrelated activities such as coaching, mentoring and community improvement.
Acuity Power Group may provide free or reduced-fee services to individuals and organizations that strive to advance community-related issues. Our consultants and staff sponsor events, participate in charitable walks, and volunteer their time in support of our communities.
MICROGRID CONSULTING SERVICES
For clients truly serious about zero-net energy and resilience to extended and catastrophic outage events, there is no one service or technology to get you there. Onsite renewable energy supply and consumption must be analyzed together as one electrical distribution system. For resilience from grid outages, the system must be capable of operating independently when the utility grid is unavailable.
Within a building, we call this a nanogrid; a system that can operate in both grid-connected and off-grid (islanded) modes at a particular voltage. When this system is linked to other similar systems through distribution, these nanogrids are then linked together into a microgrid.
We created our Microgrid Services to help clients who are serious about zero-net energy and resilience, so they can achieve a higher level of energy sustainability and reliability, while minimizing generating capacity requirements through our streamlined and highly efficient design approach to hybrid-AC/DC microgrids and nanogrids.
As members of the REBus Alliance and the EMerge Alliance, Acuity Power Group is actively advancing the awareness and implementation of DC microgrids in residential and commercial applications. As member of E-Merge Alliance’s DC Microgrid Technical Standards Committee for Buildings and Campuses, we are helping to develop international industry standards that will become the platform of a more efficient and resilient energy infrastructure.
