With almost a decade of teaching experience and a masters degree in Education, Todd Fingerman was drawn to the world of scrap metal.  After six years learning the business as a copper buyer for his father-in-law, and a few more years in the industry, he found himself at the helm of Action Metals Recycling.

Action Metals has been family-owned and incorporated with the State of Illinois since 2013.  In 2005 Todd left teaching and joined the metal recycling business.  8 years later, he and his wife started this business in their 2-car garage. As they outgrew their space, they expanded into their neighbors’ garages and multiple storage facilities.

Then in August of 2014, Action Metals moved to its current 20,000 square foot home on Frontage Road in Des Plaines. With a great location and years of experience in scrap metal, Action Metals opened its doors 4 weeks later where it continues to build a loyal following and stellar reputation.
