A Brief History...

Earl Turner opened the doors of Turner Machine in 1950 near the Indian River as a service to the boat industry in Fort Pierce. Not long after a devastating fire, Turner Machine outgrew its original building and moved to Orange Avenue in the present-day Rent Wear building. In 1963, Mr. Turner moved once again to the present location one mile east of I-95.

Fort Pierce has changed in many ways in 50 years. As tomato farms became grapefruit groves, Turner Machine replaced the production of high tractors and tomato picking machines with the production of rainbirds and portable irrigation pumps.

Other industries moved to our area. Turner Machine played an important part in the construction of our nuclear power plants. We helped to build new roads, such as I-95, building and bridges.

Out of Turner Machine's stockroom in the 1970's, Turner Industrial Supply became Fort Pierce's first distributor of industrial hardware. Out of Turner Machine's steel racks in the 1980's, A-1 Metal Supply became the only mill distributor for the Treasure Coast.

By working together, Turner Machine is able to offer quality materials for its shop work while cutting out the "middle man". Machinist and welders do what they do best and do not have to drive elsewhere to buy materials or waste time cutting steel. It is this value and quality that we believe will build our future.
