Six Recycling is a family-owned and operated company that was founded in 1990 by Norm and Joanne Six, their son Greg Six, and son-in-law Jeff Woofter. Six Recycling purchased all the assets of Berman Iron & Metal, which was owned by Barry Berman and Leonard Fineburgh. Berman Iron & Metal had been in business in the East Liverpool area for approximately 40 years.
In 1996 Jeff Woofter left the company to take over his newly elected post as the Sheriff of Hancock County, West Virginia. Since then, two other sons Frank and Ray, have joined the company as well as Greg's two children Greg II and Carlie. Currently, there are 20 people employed by Six Recycling, 6 of which are Six's.
