Electrão

Electrão has been, since 2005, one of the drivers of waste recycling in Portugal. Originally constituted to take over the management of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), it later positioned itself as the managing entity of waste flows from batteries and accumulators (RPA) and packaging waste (RE) generated in Portugal.  

Electrão is the most important management entity operating in Portugal in the area of ​​extended responsibility for the producer of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) and batteries and accumulators (PA) , deserving the trust of around 2,000 companies in this sector of activity, which place approximately 100 thousand tons of these products on the national market per year. In 2017, Electrão was responsible for the collection and forwarding for treatment and recovery of more than 400 thousand tons of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and waste batteries and accumulators (RPA) , generated in Portugal.
