In the past, in addition to the potato farmer, the milkman and the paper farmer, you also had the 'iron' farmer or old iron farmer. This name is still used but the profession has changed a lot over the years. For example, (unfortunately) not everything is collected anymore and there was also a period in which there were no longer any iron/metal processors in the region who were happy to collect the old iron.

For years with a trailer, Remon has been collecting old iron such as white goods from people in Tilburg. The customer base is growing through word of mouth. A call and an appointment for 'pick up' will be scheduled. IJzerChefke now has its own location and larger equipment for collecting and disposing of old iron and defective white goods.
