Our technology-hungry world produces billions of electronic devices every year, often without thinking about what will happen to them when their life cycle reaches the end. The United Nations estimates that only 20% of the 45 million tons of electronic waste is recycled. The rest is simply thrown away, contaminating groundwater, air and breeding soil. We are committed to recycling electronics wherever possible and disposing of the rest properly so that our environment and our fellow human beings are protected. As far as technically possible and economically reasonable, we therefore first check all recorded electrical devices according to § 20 Para. 1 ElektroG for reusability. The fractions that cannot be reused are then broken down into several usable fractions by our certified cooperation partners in a semi-automated process and in compliance with the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG). As a result, fewer natural resources need to be consumed.
