Scott Street Auto Parts

While we have little information prior to 1969, we do know that the business known as Scott Street Auto Parts was built in the middle of farm land on a little known country dirt/gravel road before there was a I610 Loop and Astrodome! The then owner, secured approximately 5 1/2 acres behind a row of repair shops with only a minimal sized road frontage shop at the South end of the current property.

In 1969, O.C. Dodds purchased Scott Street Auto Parts and transformed it into a family oriented environment remodeling the older shop by adding more space and a kitchen where all employees were treated to home cooked lunches prepared by Mrs. Dodds each day. O.C. also purchased the remaining frontage shops where he offered various mechanic and automotive repair services including a full starter, generator, alternator rebuilding shop.
