The Waste and Recycling Division of the City of St. John’s is part of the Department of Public Works. We are responsible for providing curbside waste collection for St. John’s residents, including garbage collection, the curbside recycling program, and the future compost program.

We also operate the Robin Hood Bay Regional Waste Management Facility, a modern and environmentally-sound, integrated waste management facility, servicing the Eastern Region of the province from Clarenville to St. John The recent changes at Robin Hood Bay and the introduction of the recycling program have been guided by the Provincial Waste Management Strategy.
