Denali Refuse

Denali Refuse is a local alternative to the national waste collection service in Alaska’s Mat-Su Valley.” Our mission is to provide competition in the Valley at lower cost with excellent service!”During spring thaw, the ground and driveways get very soft. Soft enough, that even personal cars and trucks will leave ruts. Our delivery truck and garbage trucks weigh considerably more and can leave very deep ruts or get stuck. This can also affect paved driveways, especially newer construction construction. If you notice your driveway is getting soft, please call us to move your container(s) close to the main road before things become an issue. This includes detached 3- or 4-plexes with trash cans picked up on a shared driveway. Once the ground hardens we can move the container(s) back to the original pickup location.

Trash Can Guidelines

• Your actual pickup time may vary each week. Please have trash out by 6:00am, or the previous evening.

• Please place your roll cart out for service with the lid closed and the handle toward the house, no more than 3 feet from driveable roadway.

• Refuse container cannot exceed 70 pounds.

• Extra bags will be charged at $2.35 per bag up to 16 gallons, or $4.35 per 17-32 gallon bag, and must not weigh more than 25 pounds each.

• A $100 charge will be assessed for lost or damaged cans.

• There is a $30 delivery fee, waived for new customers with 6 months of continuous service.

• Denali Refuse has new equipment for the trash can pickup service. Due to this change we will no longer be able to pick up large or bulky household items during regular service days. Please call the office with any questions.

• The following items are not accepted in our curbside service: rocks, dirt, oil, batteries, paint, freezers, refrigerators, or other hazardous or caustic waste.

• Only small amounts of bagged animal and fish waste are accepted, this includes game meat and animal feces.

• Residential service is billed quarterly in advance, payments are due on the 20th of the month.

• Late fee of $25.00 added on the 1st of the month following the due date for all past due accounts.

• A $30.00 non-refundable fee will be added to any account closed for non-payment on the day the trash can is scheduled for removal. We may suspend pickups on accounts that have a past due balance.

• A $30.00 NSF charge will added to any returned checks.

• Trash will be picked up on all holidays except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day.

2016 STANDARD DUMPSTER SERVICE

Customers are responsible for access to the dumpster. The truck needs to have clear, safe access to the front of the dumpster to pick it up and maneuver around the driveway/parking lot area. The ground in front of the dumpster needs to be firm enough to drive on during all seasons. During winter months the driveway and parking areas must be well sanded or graveled on the scheduled pickup day if icy. Overhead obstructions such as tree limbs must be trimmed back. If the driver is unable to safely access the dumpster for any reason it will be considered a “blocked” dumpster.If you have a locked gate with a combination please make sure the office has the code so the driver can access the dumpster outside your regular business hours. If there is no combination and you will be closed on holidays please let us know in advance of the holiday so we can schedule around your business hours if possible.

• There is a $40.00 delivery fee per dumpster in Zones 1 and 2. The delivery fee for Zone 3 is $60.00. This fee is waived for new accounts with at least 6 months of continuous service.

• Accounts closed for non-payment will be assessed a $40/$60 non-refundable fee on the day their service ends and the dumpster is scheduled for removal.
