We are a family owned and operated business serving the residents and businesses of Montgomery County since 1984. We are three brothers who were born and raised in Montgomery County, and we still reside here as well. We are committed to providing the most reliable and dependable service at the most competitive rates while at the same time doing our part to protect our environment.

Our Philosophy

Recycling and refuse removal are an important part of our everyday life. Keeping our environment clean and sustainable is of the utmost importance. However, you shouldn’t have to worry or be concerned about your recycling or refuse service. We feel our customers have enough to worry about as it is. We strive to make our services dependable, reliable, affordable, and worry free.

Our Green Mission

• Every year Potomac Disposal recycles thousands of tons of glass, aluminum, plastic, tin, cardboard, mixed paper, newspaper, metal, and yard waste generated by Montgomery County residents and businesses.

• At Potomac Disposal we equip our vehicles with the OPS Oil Purification System, providing many environmental benefits. For example:

• OPS eliminates the need for oil drains, reduces oil consumption, and reduces waste oil generation. Because the OPS keeps the engine oil soot-free, the engine burns CLEANER!

• Installing the system on the trucks is costly to us, but the benefits to the environment far outweigh the cost.

• Our trucks run on ultra low-sulfur diesel. This is the cleanest burning fuel on the market!

• For front end containers requiring locks, we use the Serious Lock Gravity Lock-Bar System. This system does not require the driver to repeatedly get in and out of the truck to unlock the can, dump it, and re-lock. With this system the driver pulls up to the can and simply dumps it and moves on. This significantly reduces idling time, which in turn reduces air emissions!

Services We Offer

Potomac Disposal has the service professionals and equipment for all your recycling and refuse removal needs.We work with our customers to determine the level of service they need as well as consult on the Montgomery County Recycling requirements for all homes and businesses. As a part of our commitment to our customers, we assist with the completion of the required annual TRRAC reports from the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection and the Department of Solid Waste Services.

Residential Services
We provide service to individual homeowners, homeowner associations, property management companies, multi-family dwellings, and municipalities. Our residential customers will attest: WE ALWAYS REPLACE LIDS ON CONTAINERS AFTER SERVICING, AND WE NEVER LEAVE LOOSE TRASH BEHIND!Individual homeowners can call for a vacation credit if the service is not needed while they are away.

Commercial/Industrial Services
We provide service to all types of businesses, small and large: property management companies and business office parks, as well as industrial parks or industrial job sites, places of worship, and schools.

Bulk Pick Up

A bulk pick up is any non-recyclable item that cannot fit into your trash can. All metal items, cardboard/paper and/or commingle (bottles, cans, glass, aluminum, etc.) material and yard waste MUST be recycled through Montgomery County- you can reach them at 240-777-0311.A bulk pickup is considered to consist of 1 to 4 acceptable items, depending on size.  Therefore your bulk request could be treated as 2,3,4 or more bulk pickups and may result in a charge.  Cleaning out your house or garage is not considered a single bulk pickup and you should expect there will be a charge.  Please note, some items carry a fee regardless due to their size and/or weight. If there is a fee assessed with your bulk pick up, it must be paid by credit card at the time of scheduling. Please be aware that Potomac Disposal, Inc. will not collect any material left behind by a contractor.
