Web-Co Custom Industries was incorporated May 1977, due to the efforts of a group of parents and concerned citizens who recognized the need to provide training and dignified employment opportunities to people with disabilities.May of 1995, saw the beginning work on a new and much larger facility for the workshop and in December of 1997, operations moved to this new building at 948 Prairie Lane. With the larger facility, we were able to hire more people and there are now over 81 employees here at Web-Co.Web-Co is a community based program operated by a local board of directors made up of caring dedicated individuals. We have been fortunate over the years to have people serve on this board who are responsive to the needs of citizens with disabilities. Their vision and guidance have assured Web-Co's success. In November of 2012 Web-Co added and additional 20,000 square foot building.It is used for the Warren Beck Memorial Recycling Center,our secured shredding,and as additional warehouse space.
TRANSPORTATION
Transportation to and from the workshop is provided for those in need of this service. We have four company buses which transport employees from Fordland, Seymour, Diggins, Rader, Niangua, and north of Marshfield.
JOB OPPORTUNITIES
Web-Co has been successful in obtaining contracts with local businesses and manufacturers which include work opportunities in mechanical and manual assembly,custom packaging, shrink wrap, collating, informational materials, machine operation,product and package labeling, and product manufacturing.Since 1999 Web-Co has worked with the JWOD program doing sewing jobs for the Department of Defense We offer vocational training and employment to qualifying indviduals and throughour cooperative training program with the school systems in Webster County, provide job readiness training to students prior to graduation.
SAFETY
Web-Co has an excellent safety record with staff and employees participating in monthly safety programs. In addition, we have regular fire and storm drills so employees are able to practice the procedures used in case of emergency.
