LEED Support Services

The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) rating system is a voluntary set of building performance standards developed by the U.S. Green Building Council. It's goal is maximizing operational efficiency while minimizing environmental impact. LEED certification is available for all building types including new construction and major renovation.LEED is a point based system. Projects earn LEED points for satisfying specific green building criteria. The number of points the project earns determines the level of LEED Certification the project receives.

Waste removal and recycling are an important part of this system.By implementing a C&D Waste Recycling Program, possibly hundreds of tons of materials could be diverted into reuse, extending their life cycle, saving natural resources, cutting production costs and reducing pressure on landfill space. With proper and clear communication, it's relatively easy and cost effective to expand this into a larger program that diverts greater C&D waste streams from landfills.

Single Stream Recycling

RPJ Waste Services Inc. now offers single-stream commercial recycling. This means you can place all RPJ approved recyclables together into a frontload container which will be picked up on a routine schedule. To see if you qualify for this program please contact an RPJ Representative for a free waste and recycling survey.Once the single-stream materials are collected by RPJ they are taken to a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF), where the recyclable materials are separated and sent to various markets to be used in the manufacturing of new products.

Cardboard Recycling

Recycling creates more jobs than landfills or incinerators. For example, incinerating 10,000 tons of waste creates one job, landfilling the waste creates 6 jobs, and recycling it creates 36 jobs.Recycling corrugated cardboard is an effective way to reduce overall trash costs. Recent waste studies show that almost 40% of what is going to landfills is fiber including approximately 17% of which is corrugated cardboard.RPJ Waste Services has a cardboard recycling program to meet the needs of large and small businesses. We can accomodate your needs by providing front load recycling services, compactor recycling services for larger volume generators and trailer service for skidded and baled cardboard.

Manure Recycling

With the encroachment of cities on formerly rural areas, the pressure is on horse owners to maintain very high sanitation standards. For many urban and suburban horse owners, paying to have manure hauled away regularly by a refuse company is the only answer.RPJ Waste Services Inc. specializes in manure hauling and, in fact, recycles all of the manure. Fewer horse owners are composting manure themselves as they simply do not have the land to store it or to spread it on. Land is scarce and at a premium, so RPJ is very busy catering to the horse acreage owner as well as the large commercial stables.
