Joppa Salvage Inc, Harford County’s best scrap yard, is located off of Route 40 in Joppa, Harford County, Maryland. We proudly serve Harford, Cecil, and Baltimore Counties here in Maryland.Joppa Salvage Inc, is a division of EMR Smith Industries, a company with origins dating back to 1898, and operates one of the oldest and largest scrap processors in the Mid-Atlantic region. Through our state-of-the-art separation systems, we buy, process, and sell ferrous and non-ferrous metals by turning raw scrap into a clean and mill-ready product.

We strive to be industry leaders by keeping our facilities clean, safe, and as responsive as possible to our customers’ needs. Our customer base includes the general public, tow companies, salvage yards, construction and demolition companies, large corporations and small businesses, local, county, state, and federal government entities including military facilities. We operate Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm, and Saturdays from 7:30am to 11:30am.As a long standing business in this area, we pride ourselves in being Harford County’s best scrap yard. There are many different kinds of materials that are considered “Scrap”  To better help you decide what you bring to the yard, here is a general list of the items we buy as scrap.  This is in no way a complete list, as that list would be miles long, but after reading, you should have  a pretty good idea of what we buy.  If you have something that is not mentioned here, contact our Buyer here, and he can answer any questions you might have.

Our Buyers at the Joppa scrap yard are highly trained individuals.  They are trained to grade materials quickly and accurately, provide you with up to date pricing based on current markets, and manage all aspects of the customer’s experience to ensure they receive all they are supposed to.  At our Joppa scrap yard, buyers serve as the Point of Contact for each of our yards.  They work directly with the customer, going to construction and demo sites to evaluate materials,  and arrange transportation of goods whether that be by roll-off, demo trailer, or flatbeds.  They can assist in developing a plan for preparation of materials to optimize profits, as well as deliver payments so you can concentrate on your business, not running around.  At the end of the day the job of a Buyer is to make the customer’s life easier.

Joppa Salvage Inc, is located conveniently in Harford County, Maryland, on Route 40 in Joppa, MD. This location primarily serves Harford County, Cecil County, and Baltimore County, MD. We are located less than 2 miles from I-95, Rt 152, Rt 7, and only a few more miles from Route 1.

We are located on Route 40 between Joppa Farm Rd and Joppa Rd on the Westbound side of Route 40, also known as Pulaski Highway.Coming from the South, you would take I-95 to exit 74 – MD-152/Mountain Road-Joppatowne, Fallston. Upon taking the exit- veer to the right onto Mountain Rd/MD-152. Take this for approximately one mile to Route 40/Pulaski Highway and take a right onto Route 40. Take Route 40 West toward Baltimore, and after approximately 2 miles, you will come to 420 Pulaski Highway on the right. If you reach a traffic signal with a Rite Aid on your right, you have gone too far.
