Newark Recycling has proudly been in business serving the tri-state region since 1993, specifically specializing in scrap metal recycling. We started out as a small two person operation and have grown into a well respected and reputable operation today, recycling an average of 12000 tons of various metals annually. We constantly update our facility to provide a safe and friendly atmosphere that welcomes everyone from families to industrial companies. Our employees are knowledgeable with all types of metal and trained to professionally handle your scrap metal.Since we are open to the public, we have no minimums on the amount of metal you can bring. You can bring as little as one pound up to as many pounds as you can haul. So if you are cleaning out a garage, attic, or any other space you have, we want you to feel confident that we will buy it from you.
One of our best attributes is keeping our yard as clean as possible. We are a scrap metal yard that tries not to look like one, and you will notice the difference when you arrive. As one of our tools, we use a street sweeper in our yard on a regular basis to keep our grounds as clean as possible. We also maintain our own roll off trucks, providing large roll off dumpsters delivered to your location exactly when it is needed. If your needs require large dumpsters, feel free to contact us regarding our dumpster service.

So keep in mind that at any time the markets can change higher or lower, sometimes drastically. The prices also vary on the amount of weight the customer drops off, the more weight, the better the price. Ferrous metals
Ferrous metals are the metals that contain a high portion of iron in them. Ferrous metals do have some value to them.A good way to test your metal to see what it composed of is to touch a magnet to it. If the magnet sticks to the metal, then it is a type of ferrous metal. If it does not stick then it is a more valuable non-ferrous metal. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.
Non-Ferrous metal
A non-ferrous metal is any metal that does not contain iron. Most of the time non-ferrous metals are a non-magnetic metal. If a magnet does not pull to the metal you are testing, it is a probably a non-ferrous metal. Non-ferrous metals are more valuable than ferrous metals and should be separated to get the most return for your metal. A couple of popular non-ferrous metals are copper, brass, and aluminum.
