GreenTronics Computer Recycling is a young and growing company that has been operating since 2010. Our vision is to do something meaningful that will positively impact generations to come. Since the advent of the home computer, there has been a need for electronic waste disposal. However, it was not until computers and other personal electronic devices became common place that electronic waste became an environmental health issue. We at GCR have made it our mission to ensure a healthy environment by eliminating e-waste from landfills in a safe and conscientious manner.

GreenTronics Computer Recycling provides pick-up service of unwanted or damaged electronics or related components. We provide this service to everyone whether you are a commercial or residential client. If your broken or unwanted electronics are ready to be disposed of, we will come and remove them FREE* of charge. We ensure that all materials will be properly recycled in accordance with Ontario regulations.

Secure Data Destruction

GreenTronics Computer Recycling values and respects their clients’ confidential data, so we provide secure data destruction were we don’t just erase the devices we DESTROY THEM!
All information devices that are requested to be destroyed will be drilled; at clients’ location before being shipped to GCR’s facility. Once devices arrive at GCR’s site the devices will be crushed or shredded for complete destruction. This 2 step destruction process ensures that the clients’ information is securely managed and cannot be exploited for fraudulent activities. Clients will then be provided a Certificate of Destruction for proof of destruction within 24hrs.The cost of this service is $6 per device.

What is E-waste?

E-waste (electronic waste) refers to computers and electronic equipment nearing the end of their “useful life”. In the right hands, many of these products and components can be reused, refurbished or recycled. This is a healthier and much more environmentally friendly way than the most common alternative of dumping into landfills.  Many individuals assume that their e-waste will be handled responsibly when thrown into the garbage. However, it DOES NOT! And in many cases your e-waste ends up in landfills. As a results our land suffers serious contamination. This is caused by the multitude of components containing toxic substances.

How We Recycle

When GreenTronics Computer Recycling receives e-waste, all items are inspected and tested for functionality. Devices and components that are functional or can be effectively repaired are sent to our refurbishing department, where our technicians work to reintroduced them into the market.Items that are completely defective and unrepairable are de-manufactured to their raw materials. They are then smelted and refined to be used in future products.
