Aggregate Recycling Corporation is an independent, family-owned business founded in 1987.ARC is a multi-faceted environmental services company. It originated recycling non-hazardous petroleum-impacted soils. In 2002, a separate adjacent recycling facility opened which processes construction & demolition debris, woodwastes, asphalt shingles, concrete/brick/ledge and scrap green waste (brush, stumps, raw bark). In 2013, ARC opened an 11,664 S.F. enclosed transfer station. This facility accepts both MSW (Municipal Solid Waste) and single-sort recycling from commercial and municipal accounts.

In 2011, a stand-alone waste hauling, transfer and container service company, Shipyard Waste Solutions, was established based at the ARC facilities.A raw bark processing, storage and transfer facility for wholesale all-natural bark mulch products is licensed and serving that marketplace in 2014.ARC's recycling facilities are conveniently located minutes from interstate 95 at the Maine/New Hampshire border. We recognize that time is money. We will have you on your way quickly. On-site truck scales provide certified weights for all incoming materials and outgoing products. We strive to provide personal service, timeliness and cost competitiveness. Materials Recycling

Innovation in mobile machinery use and size reduction technology has always been a component of ARC's success. As far back as 1998, ARC was a leader when it utilized the first Erin Fingerscreener in the United States. As ARC opened its woodwaste recycling facility in 2002, it soon became the first facility in the U.S. to put to work a Doppstadt Buffalo slow-speed grinder. Shortly thereafter it added a second one. We continue to invest in state-of-the-art equipment. In 2013, ARC is again at the forefront of processing innovation. It is pleased to own and operate the first Doppstadt Kombi in North America.

Woodwaste Recycling

Demolition woodwaste, construction woodwaste and wood pallets are processed via wood grinders/shredders. Additional equipment can include a trommel screen for sizing and wood fines removal or a picking station for debris removal. The resulting wood chip product is approved for use in applications including bio-power, energy plants, pressboard and related recycled-product manufacturing. These products are tested for quality and for restrictions such as pressure-treated wood content. All such treated wood products must be transported to secure landfill disposal.

Green Waste Recycling

All natural wood products such as stumps, logs and brush are maintained separately at the facility. These materials are often prepped for processing utilizing a stump-shear excavator attachment before being fed through a grinder/shredder or both.A trommel screen can also be utilized to screen out high-quality loam/topsoil from the sized wood mulch product. As such, the facility provides an alternative to restrictions on burn piles or for burial of stumps. The resulting processed wood material is used as an all-natural erosion control or slope-stabilizer product.

Asphalt Shingle Recycling

ARC accepts clean loads of source-separated asphalt shingles for processing. Loads should be free of site debris, but nails and black tarpaper are ok. Clean shingles are processed with ARC's grinders/shredders and trommel screen to produce a custom-sized recycled asphalt shingle (R.A.S.) product with great value as an additive to bituminous paving materials. The use of ground R.A.S. in paving products is increasing every year as asphalt pricing soars.Magnets remove ferrous metal nails from the finished product.

Single Sort Recycling

Single-sort recycling consists of “silver-bullet” items such as paper, cardboard and plastics. These recyclables are transported commingled to licensed material recovery facilities who further sort and maximize the recoverable value of these commodities.

Off-Site Grinding

ARC's mobile grinding equipment fleet offers versatility for whatever size reduction requirements you may have. We have processed materials at municipal transfer stations, private recycling facilities, private businesses and former woodlots. We offer a 'slow-speed, high-torque' shredder, as well as a 'high-speed' grinder.

Materials we have processed at customers sites include:

  • Construction/demolition woodwaste
  • Brush & tree waste (leaves/yard waste)
  • Stumps
  • Wood pallets
  • Asphalt shingles
  • Packaging materials (crates/boxes, etc.)
