Mammoth Disposal Recycle Center

Mammoth Disposal operates the only “Buyback Center” in Mammoth and Mono County. California Redemption Value (CRV) products such as Glass, Aluminum, Plastics 1 PETE and Plastics 2 HDPE are accepted. To make the process safe and convenient, please have your products sorted by type. All plastic bottles should have lids removed and glass should be sorted by color. Our personnel with measure the material and provide you with a total for the value of the material.

Load limits do apply for all CRV. Limits are 100 pounds per day of aluminum or plastic 1 and 2 and 1000 pounds of glass. These are per day, per person. By law, you can bring up to 50 aluminum, 50 glass, 50 plastic, and 50 bi-metal CRV containers in a single visit and request to be paid by count. You will be paid the full CRV redemption of 5 cents or 10 cents on each container. Inform the site attendant of your load content and how you would like to receive payment before you hand over your material.

OuCA_Recyclet-of-state material is not eligible for California Refund Value. Consumers and others may only claim CRV for aluminum, glass and plastic beverage containers that were sold in California.Our Recycle Center is run according to the Rules and Regulations of Cal Recycle.

FREE Non-Redemption Recycling Drop Off

Recycling of all recyclables can be done during regular transfer station hours. Not sure which bin to leave them in? Our helpful transfer station attendant can show you where these items go. Read the labels on the recycle center bins and put only accepted items in the bin. Place materials loose in the bins – not in paper or plastic bags.Non CRV glass and plastics 1 and 2 can also be brought to the transfer center. These items include wine, liquor, juice, milk and detergent bottles.

Mammoth Lakes

This is a self haul service that puts you in control. This service is required by all the residences of Mammoth Lakes, who own a 1 or 2 unit complex. The Town of Mammoth Lakes has partnered with Mammoth Disposal to provide a necessary service for the health and safety of all the residences. To review the Town of Mammoth Lakes ordinance.The Transfer Station is located at 59 Commerce Dr, Mammoth Lakes, CA 93546. You will check in with the Gate Attendant by providing them with the name on your account and what material you have. Bagged household trash, recyclables, pine needles (up to 110 gallons) and hazardous waste is accepted for no additional charge. Construction debris (limited to 8 yards per day), appliance and electronics are charged a discounted fee. For proper disposal and fee, please ask our Gate Attendant or call our office at 760-934-2201.

Curbside Service

bear-disposalThis service is less common because of difficult winter conditions and bear activity. To keep our community safe and to minimize bear interactions only Town approved bear resistant containers can be serviced. The trash container is not provided by Mammoth Disposal and must be purchased from Bear Saver.

Commercial Services:

Mammoth Disposal provides a dumpster service that is sure to meet your business or multi-family home needs. Service is available 7 days/week and in a variety of sizes. The dumpsters are all equipped with bear resistant lids and have the ability to be locked for security.

Roll Off Services:

Roll Off with a ViewYou don’t have to worry about cutting the pieces to fit inside of a small dumpster; you can toss them in one of our 20cy, 30cy or 40cy Roll Off containers. The Roll Off container has hinged doors at one end so they can be opened for easy access. All your construction debris can be placed in the container up to the fill line.

Mammoth Lakes Transfer Station

Our transfer station is a convenient Waste and Recycling Center open to the public. The facility provides a variety of services which include; waste disposal, recycling and hazardous waste disposal. After driving through the gate, you will be greeted by an attendant and given the information you need.
