Since 1986, when The Lavergne Group started its first recycling facility, we’ve been striving to improve product quality and performance of recycled materials. We’ve since developed Engineering Resins made from recycled sources that perform to our customers’ highest standards in various industries.

Our Mission

Our mission is to help our customers increase their sales while helping to improve the positioning in their markets and strengthen their brands. Lavergne does this in a responsible and sustainable manner for our environment our businesses and society.Concretely, Lavergne uses recycled materials, uses and promotes sustainable business practices, and uses the strengths of our business relationships, the technical expertise of our R&D, operations, marketing & sales teams to achieve the mission.

We expect to develop partnerships with customers and suppliers that have a desire to make the world better , healthier and sustainable for the future generations. We hope to develop an improved awareness from our organisation of the importance of economic success as a manner to improve organisational, social and environmental liveliness & sustainability and benefits for our employees, customers, suppliers and sharholders.

Our Company Services

Performance Compounds (Alloys & Composites)
Our focus is designing, developing, and manufacturing high-value sustainable engineering resins (alloys and composites) using as base polymers rPET, PBT (virgin), rPC (Polycarbonate), rPC/ABS, rHIPS and rPP.Our compounds can provide various structural, wear resistant, flame retardant, and color properties in over 25 engineering resins and alloys.

Environmental Solutions
When The Lavergne Group works with customers, we bring over 60 years of combined technical expertise and experience in the field of polymer chemistry. We combine chemistry with innovation, tailoring our products and environmental solutions to ensure sustainability, performance, quality, and customer service.

IN PRACTICE
The Lavergne Group and HP – Development of a Closed Loop System
HP has always been highly successful in the design and manufacture of office equipment solutions. In addition, they are a leader on the environmental front by offering one of the easiest, free recycling programs of used ink cartridges in the industry. Rather than having ink cartridges go into landfills, the HP recycling program returns used cartridges to the Lavergne Group, who reprocesses the ink cartridge plastic into raw material that is again used in new ink cartridges.

With the Closed loop process, resin that is generated from the used cartridges, is integrated into new resin that is processed to produce new original HP cartridges.Lavergne has designed similar processes that can be used in other industries to produce other product lines such as plastic parts used in the automotive and electronic industries as well as furniture and appliances.

Markets We Serve

Automotive
Technological innovations and cost-effective production in today’s highly competitive automotive industry would not be possible without the use of plastics. Our Performance Compounds & Resins play an important role in achieving these goals for vehicle parts. Some key issues for automotive applications are dimensional stability, tight tolerances, temperature and chemical resistance, electronic insulation, as well as overall part cost and weight savings.A new challenge for the Automobile Industry A new requirement today is designing parts in the automobile industry is the design for sustainability. This includes a target reduction for the carbon footprint and emissions reduction; these issues are now driving factors to sustainable production of automobiles. Our recycled materials technology and technical expertise in the design of plastic materials, along with our environmental focus, aims to give our customers the best conditions for sustainable innovation.

Electronics
We develop engineered resins for electronic devices that are used for both insulation and mechanical components. Many of our products can be certified to meet the requirements of Underwriters Laboratories standard UL94, with V-O ratings down to very thin walls. The combinations of attributes provided by engineering resins makes them desirable for many of today’s challenging applications encountered in sensitive equipment.A wide variety of material characteristics are usually required for numerous applications. We commonly receive specific requests for strength, impact resistance, temperature variance, insulation properties, dimensional stability, tolerances, modularization, and of course, cost and weight saving requirements. Our recycled materials technology and technical expertise in the design of plastic materials, along with our environmental focus, aims to give our customers the best conditions for sustainable innovation.

Appliances
Every successful appliance begins with intelligent design and engineering. In today’s highly competitive marketplace, appliance OEMs need to be proactive in reducing their overall unit costs. We help your industrial designers provide the tactile qualities and attractive aesthetics that appeal to customers; while maintaining the qualitative physical properties that facilitate value engineering demanded by your mechanical engineers. Our recycled materials technology and technical expertise in the design of plastic materials, along with our environmental focus, aims to give our customers the best conditions for sustainable innovation.

Furniture
When it comes to highly functional office furniture, engineering plastics can do a better, more cost-effective job than wood. Our thermoplastic materials portfolio offers stiffness combined with light weight. Our engineered resin materials are also useful for molding seat frames and bases. Other parts of furniture require plastic materials that are soft or flexible yet strong. We have the capability to design, engineer, and produce alloys to meet these requirements and also be gentle on the environment.

Materials

With recycled material continually feeding our manufacturing processes, we are continuously focused on meeting our customers’ concerns about product quality, performance and consistency. The Lavergne Group had developed a proprietary cleaning process that decontaminates the rPET bottle feedstock so well, that the film produced from it obtained FDA approval. This demonstrates our dedication and ability to produce high quality, high performance products. Our technical expertise in the processing of recycled plastics provides the highest quality Sustainable Engineering Resins.Rest assured that our engineered polyester compounds are the highest quality available for injection molding as well as other applications.
