E-Waste:
We can only accept * televisions ($20 fee) * monitors ($20 fee) * computers and peripherals * vidio/stereo equipment * VCRs * DVD Players * video cameras * telephones * fax and copying machines * cellular phones * video game consoles * microwaves. The product is NOT exported and is recycled in the United States.
Glass:
We can only accept packaging glass, such as pop bottles and jelly jars; no windows or light bulbs. They are a different chemical composition than packaging glass and there is not a market for them at this time.
Cans:
Steel cans are magnetic and include food, coffee and dog/cat food cans. Aluminum cans aren't magnetic and include pop and beverage cans.
Plastic:
Only #1 and #2 plastics are accepted in this area. This includes milk jugs, 2 liter bottles, laundry detergent bottles, water bottles, some margarine containers, and shampoo and pill bottles. You can practice 'pre-cycling' by shopping for products packaged in #1 and #2 plastics, rather than other types that aren't recyclable in our community.
Paper/Cardboard:
Please separate newspapers from magazines and higher quality office paper if possible. The Station gets a better price for higher quality paper and this money is used to run the program. Both paperboard (cereal and cracker boxes) and corrugated cardboard (thick with wavy layer in between) are accepted, but should be separated.
We do not accept the following:
Batteries, wood, mirrors, ceramics, dishes, glass coffee pots, light bulbs, oil or plastic oil containers, windows, styrofoam food containers, carpet, yard waste (leaves, grass clippings) paint, propane tanks or other hazardous productsDo not drop off items after hours as this is illegal dumping.
