'In 1993, we built the first Material Recovery Facility in San Bernardino County. We have accomplished the highest diversion rate of all of our surrounding cities and amongst the highest in the State of California. I have always maintained the integrity of this company by providing quality service to the City of Hesperia and County areas.
We have received many awards and acknowledgements from our community for the services we provide. Amongst the awards are: Proclamation from the City of Hesperia recognizing Advance Disposal for its vision and support of the community; Gil Zank Lifetime Membership Award for 29 years of membership; and other awards from the City of Hesperia, Chamber of Commerce and other community leaders.
For 49 years, I have believed in serving family, community and environment.'

Our History

In 1965, Robert Bath left his successful swimming pool business in the San Fernando Valley, packed up his family, and purchased a small disposal company in Hesperia. With only two trucks (aquired from a friend as payment for a debt owed) and his wife Donna by his side, Bath founded Advance Disposal Company. With an eye on helping the environment, the company began a small recycling operation of aluminum cans, glass and cardboard in the late 1970s. In December of 1992, city-wide mandatory trash pickup became effective. The state mandated recycling laws requireing cities to reduce their total waste stream 25% by January 1, 1992 and 50% by the year 2000. With this in mind, Advance Disposal Company constructed the first Material Recovery Facility (MRF) in San Bernardino County.
By creating awareness through school and community programs, Advance Disposal Company continues to meet or exceed the 50% landfill diversion rate implemented in 2000.This family-owned and operated business now has a large fleet of trucks. The MRF has doubled in size to better serve the growing community's needs. And Robert and Donna's daughter Sheila is now the President of Advance Disposal Company and is grooming her sons Jake and Matt to one day take over the family business.Advance Disposal Company continues to support the community they joined almost 50 years ago and looks forward to future opportunities to grow and succeed in the High Desert.

  • Reserve one day for your shopping and errands instead of making multiple trips all the time to reduce fuel and fuel emissions.
  • Check out garage sales and estate sales before shopping the retail stores.Use old t-shirts for yardwork, vehicle cleaning, or even dusting or cleaning your home instead of papertowels or one-time use towels.
  • Recycle things you don’t want any more by donating them to local charities or non-profit organizations – old toys, clothes, furniture, decor, games, movies, books, and tools.

Buy-Back Recycling Facilities

Advance Disposal Company sorts through all the incoming trash through our Material Recovery Facility (MRF), and separates the trash from the recyclables for all of its customers and service areas. This can be a very tedious and time consuming task, however, this is the reason Advance Disposal has maintained one of the highest diversion rates in the entire County of San Bernardino.
Advance Disposal does not buy-back plastic, aluminum or glass from customers.
