Data Destruction & Removal

According to a 2006 survey conducted by Gartner, the risks associated with improper data security and privacy was the #1 concern of IT professionals. Important and confidential data resides not only on computer and server hard drives. Printers, copiers, PDAs, scanners and fax machines all have the potential to contain data storage devices.

Secure e-Cycle offers two Department of Defense approved solutions, each of which ensures that data stored on hard drives is completely eliminated. All hard drives are recorded in our system by serial number to allow for detailed reporting of the entire process. In addition, prior to entering the data destruction process, we ensure that all company asset tags are completely removed from each asset.

Two Proven Methods to Ensure your Data is Safe:

• Every hard drive we handle undergoes a certified Department of Defense 5220-20M disk wiping process which overwrites 100% of the information contained on the disk. Once the device has been completely erased, it can be reused, preserving the functional and remarketing value of the asset. 
• Secure e-Cycle uses a mechanical Hard Drive Crusher to destroy archived data on-site at your location or at our Lenexa, Kansas plant. Our Department of Defense approved crusher fractures the platters containing data rendering the data unreadable. Subsequent to destruction all hard drives are responsibility recycled.
• Secure e-Cycle will handle the waste-free disposal of all types of electronic and IT devices and equipment including: desktop computers, laptop computers, monitors, servers, printers, desktop & mobile phones, peripherals, and cabling. 
• Secure e-Cycle has the technical expertise and thorough understanding of secondary markets needed to optimize the value of out-dated electronic equipment. Over the years we’ve fine-tuned our process for maximizing remarket value through careful management of supply/market of spare parts, and consistently keeping abreast of current prices across a number of markets. Our technicians will effectively diagnose and ascertain the refurbished and remarketed value of your surplus equipment, and we’ll offer a fair market value pre-purchase for a large number of items. We also offer revenue sharing arrangements for re-sold equipment to assist in alleviating processing costs optimizing the overall value of our services.
• To complement the customized solutions we offer to large corporations, businesses, municipalities and consumers, Secure e-Cycle provides comprehensive reporting detailing the entire asset disposition process.  To satisfy internal company policies and regulatory/industry requirements companies must be able provide evidence that their confidential data is effectively destroyed and their assets are disposed of in a compliant manner.  Secure e-Cycle’s proprietary asset management system captures all relevant details during Registration (i.e. Client #, Serial #, asset type and specs) and tracks the progress throughout the process including final disposition status.
