ProTek Recycling Inc. is a New York State registered electronics collection and recycling facility that serves businesses in Troy, NY, Albany, NY, Manhattan (NYC recycling), and many other places. We believe very strongly that the decision to properly recycle electronics and computer recycling shouldn’t be limited by cost. With this in mind, we strive to maintain minimal to zero-cost recycling and pickups for our clients. All our services are also designed to be simple and efficient allowing our customers to focus on their core business without having to worry about the logistics of recycling electronics.ProTek Recycling Inc. was founded in 2012 by engineering graduates from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with the goal of developing a process for recycling all types of electronics from the ground-up. ProTek Recycling is a New York State registered electronic waste collection and recycling firm (DEC # 00838). We also select our downstream vendors with great care, ensuring that any end-of-life material that could potentially be hazardous is given only to R2 or eStewards certified companies. In addition we also have a strict zero-landfill policy for any electronic material and even have recycling programs for non-electronic materials such as cardboard and plastics.ProTek Recycling also has strong connections with some of the early pioneers in the computing industry and as a result has long maintained a museum of notable classic systems and computing firsts. We  at ProTek Recycling know that data security is of the utmost importance to you. And like environmental responsibility, we want all of our clients to know exactly what happens with their data-containing devices and how we manage and eliminate their risk.Large quantities of bare drives, or equipment containing drives can be picked up by our staff or in the case of small quantities (1-20 drives) may be mailed to our site for destruction. We will never view, copy, or otherwise access any data on hard drives that we receive. We can also remove the drives from equipment we pick up for recycling.
